Independent car buyer's agent · Sydney

Buy your next car without getting burned.

The seller does this every week. You do it every five years. I even the odds. I find the car, inspect it in person, verify its history and handle the negotiation, so you drive away with the right car at the right price. Paid only by you, never the dealer.

An inspection is the front door. Most people start with a pre-purchase inspection, then hand me the whole job, the search, the history, the negotiation. Take one piece or all of it.

The process

I do the homework.
You drive away happy.

Step one

I find the candidates

Tell me your budget and what you need, or send me a car you've spotted. On a full search I hunt Carsales, Facebook Marketplace, dealer sites and the enthusiast forums myself. I call every seller, ask the hard questions and filter out the junk before you ever hear about a car.

Step two

I inspect and verify

Only the shortlist gets my time in person: paint, panels, interior wear against the odometer, service history, test drive. I run the PPSR check for finance owing, write offs and stolen records, then arrange a licensed mechanic for the full mechanical inspection.

Step three

You pay less

You get a straight verdict: buy it, walk away, or here's what it's actually worth. If it's a buy, I negotiate the price using everything the inspection found. The savings usually cover the fee several times over. That's the whole point of paying me.

Why trust me

Numbers I'll stand behind.

17 The age I got burned on my first car. The reason this exists.
6 Years buying, selling and living used cars, from first cars to enthusiast builds.
100% Of the buyers I've found and negotiated for still have their car, and still recommend me.
$0 Taken from dealers or sellers. Ever. My only pay cheque is yours.
Why use a buyer's agent

The seller does this every week. You don't.

Buying a used car is a negotiation against someone who does it for a living, with more information than you and every reason to keep it. A buyer's agent puts a professional on your side of the table, for a fraction of what one bad buy costs.

You're outmatched, and that's normal

Dealers and private sellers negotiate constantly. You do it every few years. I close that gap so you're never the least experienced person in the deal.

The saving usually beats the fee

Armed with the inspection findings and real market data, I negotiate from evidence, not hope. Most clients save more than they pay me, several times over.

No emotion. No rush. No lemon.

It's easy to fall for a car and talk yourself past the warning signs. I don't. You get a straight verdict, so you buy with your head, not your heart.

Pricing

Flat fees. No commissions. No surprises.

Every fee is flat, quoted in writing, and agreed before I start. What it costs depends on the car and where it is, because a Corolla in Liverpool isn't a 911 in Newcastle. Tell me what you're looking at and I'll give you a number on the call. It doesn't move after that. And I never take a cent from a dealer or a seller, so my only incentive is getting you the right car at the right price.

Where the money goes. A standalone mobile mechanical check runs $250 to $350 and stops at the engine bay. My service wraps a licensed mechanical inspection together with the parts a mechanic never touches: forensic history and logbook digging, a real market-value analysis against cars that actually sold, and the negotiation itself. One flat fee for the lot, and if I can't see a realistic path to saving you more than it costs, I'll tell you on the call, before you pay a cent.
Why it matters

Three things a casual look always misses.

Hidden damage hides in plain sight

Respray overspray, off panel gaps, interior wear that doesn't match the odometer. Repaired crash and flood cars pass a casual look every day. They don't pass mine.

The history tells the real story

PPSR reveals money owing, write-offs and stolen flags. Service books reveal skipped maintenance. Five minutes of proper checking beats five years of regret.

Negotiation pays for itself

Sellers price in room to move and count on you not knowing where it is. I come armed with the inspection findings and real market data. The savings usually cover my fee several times over.

The track record

Real cars. Real numbers. Every owner still has theirs.

Actual cars I've found, inspected and negotiated, with the real prices and honest outcomes. Here are three.

White Hyundai i30 N on delivery day with a blue bow on the bonnet

Hyundai i30 N

A hot hatch that actually held its value.

Paid$32,000 · 32,000km
ConditionNot a single scratch

Bought at $32k, driven for a year, then sold for $36k. The owner drove a near-new performance car for twelve months and came out ahead. That's what buying the right example at the right price does.

Grey Honda Integra Type R DC5 parked outside apartments

Honda Integra DC5

Completely stock, one owner. The hard part was proving it.

Paid$10,000 · 130,000km
ConditionGenuine, unmolested

Enthusiast cars are where sellers hide the most, so a genuine stock one owner example is rare and it's worth real money. Bought for $10k, later sold for $20k. Knowing what you're actually looking at is the whole game.

Toyota Hilux SR5 with bull bar and driving lights in a driveway

2016 Toyota Hilux SR5

The clean, honest ute that's genuinely hard to find.

Paid$34,000 · 98,000km
ConditionImmaculate

Full service history, leather interior upgrade, immaculate throughout, and priced right against the market. It passed inspection with confidence and the owner is still enjoying it today. Utes carry the biggest markups, so a clean one that checks out is a win.

Interstate service

The right car isn't always in Sydney. I'll go get it.

Some of the sharpest deals in the country sit in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, priced lower simply because most Sydney buyers won't make the trip. That distance is your advantage, because I will.

If the best example of the car you're after is interstate, I fly out, inspect it in person, arrange the mechanical check with a local licensed mechanic, negotiate the deal, and organise the way home: transported on a truck, or driven back and delivered to your door.

Travel costs are quoted upfront and agreed before anything is booked, so there are no surprises. For rare or high value cars, the interstate saving often pays for the trip several times over.

Why me

I've made the buyer's mistakes. So you don't have to.

At 17, I spent years of savings on my first car, a Toyota Corolla. Everything I had.

I bought it from someone I thought I could trust. I did everything I thought was right, but I didn't know what to look for, and he knew exactly how little I knew. It was a lemon. Weeks later I stood at the wreckers, handed over the keys, and watched my savings disappear with it.

That day changed how I look at every car, and every seller.

Since then, no one close to me has bought a car without me checking it first. Add five years of professional property inspection, where the job was literally finding what others miss, and spotting what sellers hide became my trade.

Now I do it for you.

Common questions

Straight answers.

I personally handle everything a buyer's agent should: body, paint, panels, interior condition, service history, PPSR checks, the test drive and the value assessment. For the mechanical side, engine, transmission, suspension and diagnostics, we work with a licensed mobile mechanic who's part of the team, so you get a professional mechanical report from a qualified tradesperson alongside my inspection, not just my opinion. You get both sets of findings in plain English, and if they disagree with me, you'll hear that too.

All of Sydney. I'm based in the south west, so Liverpool, Hoxton Park, Campbelltown and surrounds get same day availability most weeks, but I regularly inspect cars from Penrith to the Northern Beaches. And I travel interstate: if the right car is in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or regional NSW, I'll fly or drive out, inspect it there, and organise getting it home. Travel costs are quoted and agreed upfront.

Then the service just did its job. You'll get a clear report explaining exactly why I'd walk away, what the warning signs were, and what to look for in the next one. On the Full Search tier, a failed car costs you nothing extra: the search simply continues until we find one that passes. For Inspect clients, I offer a reduced rate on the next inspection, because one walk away shouldn't mean paying full price twice.

Flat fees, paid by you and only you. Inspections are paid before I attend, and the Full Search service is a deposit up front with the balance when you buy. I never accept commissions, referral fees or kickbacks from dealers, sellers or anyone else. That independence is the whole point: the moment an agent takes money from the selling side, they stop working for you. And advice over the phone is always free, so if you just want a quick opinion on a car, call me.

All three. Private sales are where the biggest bargains and the biggest traps live, and where an inspection matters most. With dealers, I handle the negotiation games, the trade in squeeze and the add on upsells so you don't have to. Auctions I approach carefully and only for experienced clients, since most sell with no cooling off period and limited comeback. Wherever the car is, the process is the same: verify first, negotiate second.
